Long serving employee Gail Careless, a Lab Analyst and Technical Support Officer from our Halesowen office, is honouring her daughter, Frankie May, by joining the Snowdon by Night Hike on the May 18th 2024 to support Sands, a charity for families affected by stillbirth and neonatal loss. Through her fundraising, Gail aims to raise awareness for a cause that provided immense support during her time of need.

Gail shared. "I'm committed to giving back to Sands and ensuring that other bereaved parents recieve the same level of support that was extended to me during my darkest days."

The charity's multifaceted approach encompasses not only providing direct support to bereaved families but also collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care for those affected by such tragic circumstances. Furthermore, Sands actively advocates for advancements in practice and allocates resources towards research aimed at reducing the prevalence of infant loss.

Gail, alongside others will be joining Sands on their annual Snowdon by Night Hike, starting with the gradual climb along Llanberis path in darkness, with their headlights to held guide them through the walk, and on the descend from the summit, are hopeful they will watch the sunrise and the views of Snowdonia National Park.

As Sands relies heavily on the unwavering dedication of its supports to sustain its operations, initatives like Gail's fundraiser are instrumental in enabling the charity to continue its vital work. Each donation recieved serves as hope for those who are navigating grief and loss.
